AARP = American Association of Retired People
I recently joined AARP because my father's subscription/membership was expiring this month (he passed away in December 2007) and I really really like their magazine.
Membership includes the magazine a newsletter and numerous discounts

I joined AARP through Inbox Dollars. The cost for one year was $16.00 and I will be getting $6.00 back from Inbox Dollars.
The really great thing though is that I renewed my homeowners insurance today.
Being an AARP member saved me $117.00 in premiums for the exact same coverage. In less than 2 weeks, I've saved a lot more than the membership cost me even without the $6.00 from Inbox Dollars.
If you are over 50 and live in the USA--you don't have to be retired either--I strongly recommend checking out AARP

Isn't AARP fantastic? I have been a member now for almost 3 yrs and love all the added extras you get with it.
Wow that's amazing. Here in the Netherlands you can only get discounts on train and bus tickets - outside rush hours only - if you're over 60.
