Dear Suzy,
I am sorry to hear what happened to you on your job application with RGIS.

I work for RGIS as a supervisor for 6 years now. Many years back when employment with the company was so simple and virtually no qualifications at all, applicants never have had issues with getting jobs with the company.

But recently, RGIS has overhauled its employment process so rigid and spartan to the point where well-qualified applicants can be rejected at the start of the hiring process.

In my opinion, you are very qualified. Honestly, you only need these 3 simple things to be an RGIS auditor: Meet your APH (fancy way of describing your counting speed), Be Accurate and Do not miss your scheduled stores.

Note that these qualifications have nothing to do with any college degree or what not. They do not even tell about previous accounting experiences.

Some people say that all roads lead to Rome, but not for RGIS. The company promotes auditors to management positions from within, but one should take his/her foot at the door first before taking any challenges ahead. Don't stop trying.

If you have spare time, visit

to get some of the latest issues with the company and the retail inventory at large.

Happy New Year.

Cheers,
Seattle Mariner

While I have always considered RGIS to be a company that will hire anyone, and they do indeed hire some "winners"...I've come to think that they do not like people who are overqualified or too highly educated. I am not sure why, as they do not really care if you are in it for the long haul, as long as they can get through January.

It is just as well for you, though. Once you work for RGIS for awhile, it is hard to find a real job again, as the skills (counting?) are not transferable, and most employers have absolutely no respect for the job. Oh and did I mention the pay is crap, and unless you are super fast, it stays that way forever? Unless you plan to work your way up to management (which from what I understand, is not all it is cracked up to be), you are far better off somewhere else.
